Battle of Arrapha

Background

The Battle of Arrapha was a major conflict that occurred in 616 BC between the Assyria and the fledgling forces of Neo-Babylonia at the city of Arrapha. During this engagement the Chaldean leader named Nabopolassar soundly defeated the Assyrian forces and managed to capture many prisoners of war, horses and chariots they would help fuel the war effort.

Ultimately the momentum gained during this battle would allow the forces of Babylonia to successfully conquer the Assyrian Empire for good.
