Adasi I
Background
Adasi I was an usurper to the rule over Assyria between 1720 BC and 1701 BC following the removal and deposing of the previous Amorites kings. He is known to have stabilized the internal political and social situation of Assyria following turmoil and civil war and was succeeded by his son named Bel-bani. He is known as the last in the line of 7 designated pretenders and usurpers to the Assyrian throne on the Assyrian King List.
