Background
Tukulti-Ninurta II was a king of Assyria between 891 BC and 884 BC and was the second king of the Neo-Assyrian Empire. He was the son of the previous king named Adad-nirari II who founded the Neo-Assyrian Empire and was responsible for continuing the military expansion of Assyria by conquering and subjugating the Hittites, Babylonia, Aram, as well as conquering tribes throughout the Zagros Mountains such as the Persians and the Medes.
Tukulti-Ninurta II only ruled for a brief period in Assyria before he was replaced by Ashur-nasir-pal I.

His son succeeded him and was named Ashurnasirpal II.
